A Place to Gather
Our First Family Event at the Clubhouse
Last week, families gathered at our new clubhouse for a meaningful milestone: the very first family event in a space created for Friends, youth, and caregivers to connect and belong.
Having a dedicated clubhouse opens new possibilities for our program. It offers professional mentors and youth a consistent place to spend time together, build routines, and share experiences beyond school and home. This first gathering gave us a glimpse of what this space can make possible.
Families came together to meet our new Cultural Advisor, Lacey Bacon, and spent the afternoon enjoying Native American storytelling, hands-on activities, and shared meals. The clubhouse quickly filled with conversation, curiosity, and moments of connection as families got to know one another.
For many, this was their first visit to the clubhouse. Seeing the space come to life through learning, laughter, and community reinforced why having a welcoming place of our own matters. It strengthens relationships and creates a sense of belonging that carries into every part of our work.
This gathering marked the beginning of many opportunities to come together, learn, and grow. We look forward to continuing to welcome families into this space and building a community rooted in trust.
