Summer Is Here
A family kickoff event marked the start of our summer programming.
For some families, our summer kickoff was their first time stepping inside the clubhouse. They met Lacey, our cultural advisor, along with two of the newest kids in our program, who came out to settle in and get to know the people who will be part of their year ahead.
Parents had time to connect with one another too. Over Indian tacos and fry bread from Indigenous Eats, families played games together while the moms in particular found space to talk, laugh, and begin getting to know one another.
Those connections will carry into the weeks ahead. Alongside summer camp, which keeps kids active and learning while school is out, we are launching Strong Roots Moms, a weekly series for mothers to build community and support one another. Several children plan to join us at camp every day this summer, and many others will come each week as their schedules allow.
Summer is officially underway at the clubhouse!
