Staff: Sara Cardwell

Sara Cardwell holds a B.S. In Psychology from Eastern Washington University and brings over 20 years of experience working with nonprofits supporting families in Spokane. A strong believer in the power of consistent, safe relationships, Sara is passionate about helping children and their caregivers overcome the challenges of trauma, poverty and social isolation. As a mother of four and an enrolled member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, she understands firsthand the importance of culturally honoring connections and community support.

Sara is a deeply committed leader who builds and nurtures program teams to provide quality, trauma-informed care- always putting relationships at the heart of the work. She is thrilled to have joined the Friends of the Children and is looking forward to the impact that the model will bring to the Eastern Washington area.
