Lee Schoentrup has more than 30 years of communications experience in such diverse industries as global health, health care and software development in both for-profit and non-profit arenas. Her career focus has included messaging, branding, events, marketing, media relations and social media. While semi-retired, Lee continues to use her skills developing content for a small Seattle-based biotechnology company.

She also served as an instructor at the University of Washington, teaching public relations writing for 10 years and being recognized with a “Teaching Excellence Award” from the UW in 2017.

Lee holds bachelor’s degrees in journalism and library science education from Mississippi University for Women and was a newspaper reporter/editor before building a successful career as a communications professional.

Lee has served on several non-profit boards, including Seattle’s South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce, the Northwest Association for Biomedical Research and Friends of the Children-Seattle, where she filled the role of Board Secretary. After living in the Seattle area for more than 25 years, she and her husband moved to Spokane three years ago to be near their son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons.
