Cola Boyer is an enrolled member of the Shoshone Bannock Tribes from Fort Hall, Idaho. With a rich background in both cultural advocacy and business leadership, Cola brings over 15 years of experience in casino operations, human resources, and business leadership. Her commitment to serving Indigenous communities is at the heart of her work, and she is passionate about making a positive impact within her profession and her community.
Cola received her bachelor’s degree in Race and Culture from Eastern Washington University, with minors in American Indian Studies and Africana Studies. She went on to earn a master’s degree in business leadership with an emphasis in Executive Leadership from Whitworth University. In recognition of her exemplary leadership, Cola was awarded the John Hengesh Award for Servant Leadership by her graduating class in 2023. Her leadership, combined with her dedication to community and culture, has earned her recognition by the Journal of Business as one of the top ten rising stars in business in Spokane.
Currently, Cola serves as the Director of Tribal Relations at Eastern Washington University, where she plays a pivotal role in strengthening relationships with tribal nations and advancing educational opportunities for Indigenous students. In this role, Cola works to ensure that the university’s programs and initiatives are aligned with the values and needs of tribal communities. Her ability to navigate complex cultural dynamics, combined with her background in business leadership, positions her to be a strong advocate for Indigenous students and communities within higher education. Cola’s leadership journey also extends to her role as a member representing the interests of Indigenous communities. She serves on the board of Embrace Washington as Secretary assisting foster families and foster kids in many areas. This positions allow her to contribute to the greater Spokane community while amplifying the voices and needs of Indigenous peoples.
Her commitment to leadership, service, and advocacy is what drives Cola, and she looks forward to the opportunities ahead to continue her impactful work.
